  • WWII 60-Inch Anti-Aircraft Searchlight

  • 800,000,000 (800 million) candle power

  • Carbon Arc (welding arc) used to create illumination

  • Light and Power Plant manufactured by Sperry Gyroscope

  • Light and Power Plant made in 1941

  • Weight of Light and Power Plant approximately 6000 lbs.

  • Light operates on 78 Volts D.C. at 150 Amps.

  • Power Plant Fuel: Gasoline

  • Power Plant motor - Hercules JDX 6 cylinder flat head

  • Power Plant is water cooled

  • Power Plant runs at 1150 rpm

  • Approximately 3 hours run time on one positive carbon

  • 10,000 lights were manufactured between 1938 - 1942

  • Of the 10,000 lights, almost 80% were shipped to Europe
